WOLVERINE #313

[ GIMME A DISCOUNT B*TCH!
Get ready for one hell of a conclusion. It's full of battles, hope, and confusion. Although Logan would misconstrued. Because he's always been quite rude. About a tale relating to a blood ridden transfusion. You know, one cobbled together by Writer: Jeph Loeb; Artist: Simone Bianchi; and Publisher: Marvel Comics in October 2012.

So what’s the STORY morning glory?
Have you ever been stabbed in the back, punched in the front, before your mind was penetrated by otherworldly forces, illustrating that you've instigated your current physiognomy? No. Me neither. But Wolverine has, in this forth and final part of 'Sabertooth: Reborn'.

  • You see, as soon as 'Old Captain sideburns' commences his battle with Romulus, Sabertooth suddenly come rushing to the fore, and together, they show Logan that he was once a member of a team which utilized the 'Weapons X program' to start a new breed of being.
  • Thank God that Wolverine regains his senses post haste, huh? Or otherwise he, Cloak, and Dagger, wouldn't have been able to kick these bad-guys into touch! POW!
  • Moreover, commence a new begining in the charred ashes of the old.

BOOOOM!

See?

What is the most memorable SENTENCE OR CONVERSATION spoken in this issue?
By in large the majority of this issue was light on dialogue and bi-polar in exposition. However, I did like the bit where Logan said to himself whilst fighting Romulus 'Half the problem with claiming that your the best at anything, is that you're setting yourself up to take a shot at someone knocking you down'.

Well, if Wolverine thought like that, why does he say it at all?

What was the BEST thing about this issue?
I did enjoy reading the flash-back sequence, because the diction and the intent was much more clearer than the main story itself, and had a 'muted splendor' which aided the ambiance of this scene.  Nice. Very nice indeed.

What was the WORST thing about this issue?
If I could use one word to describe the vibe of this issue, that word would be 'muddy'. You see, some of the fight scenes were a bit hit or miss in execution. The pace of the narrative was all over the place. And the overall yarn felt like a couple of chaps rolling around in the... no... I will save that analogy for later me thinks.

Also, I wasn't too keen about that scene where Wolverine was left to recover after his battle with Sabertooth and Remus. What was the point of that, huh? Leaving the 'hero' on his Jack-Jones to get better again! Seems like a stupid thing to do, right?

What was the most CREATIVE thing about this issue?
STORY: Again, I suppose the only thing creative within this adventure was in the flash-back sequence. But this time not the tone or the ambiance  Oh no. The question that it threw up in the air about Wolverines past relationships with Remus, Sabertooth, Romulus, as well as that team he slaughtered.

Makes you wonder if it was real or not, huh?

ART: One of the most breath taking pieces of art in this tale, was the last page where Wolverine and Remus embraced each other whilst standing in the sea. Not only was it boldly illustrated, but it also showed a nice shot of Remus' ass. Lovely.

If you had to CAST TWO CHARACTERS in this comic book, who would they be and why?
ROMULUS: I'm going to do go all animalistic with this installment of casting call, and cast this bad-boy as a crazy baboon because he looks like one.

REMUS: Where as his sister looks a lot like a sexy leopard to me. Especially in the arch of her legs, ha!

If this issue had a MOVIE TAG LINE, what would it be?
Do You Have Severe Head-Aches? Well, Try To Have Adamantium Laced To Your Skeleton You F*cking A**-H*le! That's Real Pain!

If this issue were a MOVIE, an OBJECT, or a piece of MUSIC, what would that be and why?
As I've alluded to previously, this murky tale reminds me a lot like 'Mud wresting'. It's dirty in places, bold in others, but at the end of the day it just one big fight fest.

Say no more.

FINAL thoughts...
OK, I have to confess, I wasn't that pleased with this final part of 'Sabertooth: Reborn'. I was hoping for some defiant answer if Wolverine was the person that instigated his enrollment into the 'Weapon X' program. But what I got instead was an insinuation and a flash-back that might be true or not. Moreover, to rub salt into this collective wound, Sabertooth gets away to play another day; and Logan gets a new love interest in Remus!

Shame. As I was hoping for a more 'integral tale' to this bold saga.
