Some times the life of a cosplayer can be rather dramatic and bold. Other times the life of a cosplayer can be rather normal and benign. But by in large, cosplayers lives are generally adventurous by default. Cause this form of creative expression is able to take them all over the place, just like it did my mate Megan. Here. Check out this interview I did with her and see why.
1) What are your own origins, Megan? Plus what path did you take in life prior to getting to where you are today? My origins are pretty much all over the map. Since my father was in the army, we moved all over the U.S plus to a small town in Germany. But for most my life I lived on the outskirts of Chicago, until three years ago, when we moved to Rhode Island and I started my path to cosplay.

I've met a lot of interesting people and went to my first actual con called 'Anime Boston 2012'. And from then on in, I started making a lot of cosplay friends and getting more interested in it.
2) What are the most persistent comments you've received from your followers? I've gotten many different comments from my follower, from doing more revealing cosplays to certain comic book characters. A lot of my followers are my close friends, so some of my ideas will stem off something they said.
3) What is your ‘regular’ job? And does it in any way shape or form aside you as a Cosplayer? Currently I'm a college student studying for my degree in 'Sonographing', whilst working part time at the local grocery store. Neither really shape me as a cosplayer, yet the support from my friends at school and work really does help.
10) Do you have a credo you live by? “You are what you love not who loves you” from Fall Out Boy’s song 'Save Rock and Roll'. I just feel its something we all should live by. Stop trying to make people love you and just love yourself no matter what.
So there you have it, folks. My pal Megan and her life as a cosplayer. When you have the time please check out her facebook page, Krazed Chaos, and see for yourself what she'll get up to next.

4) How did your friends, family, and work colleagues first react to the news that you like to Cosplay? My parents don’t really understand what I do, but they've helped me out with hotels and / or costumes when needed. My grandma is my biggest supporter. She always asks me about how the cons are and tries to help me perfect my sewing skills, so I can make the best costumes.
5) How do you decide what costume to wear for a convention? And who makes them? I usually find characters from the games I play or the shows I watch, and then I try to make the costumes accordingly. My 'Rikku Berserker' costume was actually made by a cosplayer that goes by the name of 'Supernovadobe'. Whilst my 'Vanille' costume -- except for the skirt -- was made by my pal at 'Melvinopolis Costuming & Design'.
Saying that, though, I made my 'Panty cop' costume and 'Vanille’s' skirt myself.
6) What have you learnt about yourself in this capacity? And were their any unforeseen obstacles you had to contend with? That I can be really bad at last minute work. Ha! Not only do I get super stressed about it, but I start not to care about how it looks because I just want to get the job done.

7) What was the best / worst convention you ever attended? I've never been to a bad con. All of them have been really fun! Especially 'Connecticon 2013'. Don’t get me wrong, some of them had a bit of drama to them.
8) What would be your dream Cosplay gig and outfit? I have a huge list of dream cosplays I would love to do. Some of them include 'Fem Jecht' from 'Final Fantasy 10'; 'Harley Quinn' from the 'New 52'; 'Skyrim Nightingale Armor'; 'Tauriel' from the 'Hobbit'; and many MANY more.
Hopefully I can do them all in the next few years. But my dream cosplay gig would have to be being invited as a guest to a con. I would be so floating on clouds if I did.
9) Has their ever been an outfit you just did not like wearing? And if so, why? I've actually liked wearing all of the outfits I've worn. All of them have been really-really fun, despite some kinks with designs and the fittings.
