To quote Pablo Picasso, 'The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web'. Yet to quote my mate Emmanuel, 'Please check out the following interview or else I will give you a kiss'.
1) What are your own origins, Emmanuel? Plus what path did you take in life prior to getting to where you are today? I come from France, and after my studies at an Engineering School (where I specialized in technical drawing), I decided to use my skills for comic books as a penciler, inker, and colorist.

2) What inspired you to become an artist? I started reading comic books when I was a kid and I have not stopped since then! I've always loved the universe of superheroes, and at a very young age, I naturally started drawing my favorite characters from my favorite artists. I then found my own style of drawing and I did not limit myself to superheroes but to any kind of drawings.
3) Can you briefly tell us about some of the project’s you've been apart of? I currently have ongoing projects with an Editor in Germany for the conception of covers for books that will be edited on internet and published in stores.
More generally, I offer my skills for any kind of Editors and Publishers interested in my drawings, and I am open to any kind of collaboration:
4) What song would you say best represents your style of art? I am the CEO of "Listen to the image", a music & sound design Agency specialized in composing & producing music for synchronization (Films, TV, Commercials, Multimedia). And at the moment we create customized music, with a direct player to some of our songs (synchronized with videos): So my choice would be one of those songs!
5) If you could get a celebrity – either living or dead – to promote your wares, who would you choose, and why would you want to choose this particular person? Stan Lee or Jim Lee, because their fantastic style's of art had -- and still has -- a large impact within the the comic book universe, which has influenced me a lot, giving me in many ways the will to become an artist. Also, because of their powerful influence in the world of publishing too.

6) What have you learnt about yourself through this endeavour? And were their any unforeseen obstacles you had to contend with along the way? It's not enough to have talent. The hard part is to obtain connections in the drawing and comic books industry with the Publishers and the Editors-in-Chief.
7) During your time in this field, what is the one thing that has kept you in good stead? My passion, the regularity in my work, my ambitions and... yes... my talent.
8) If you had a motto, Emmanuel, what do you think it would be? "Be yourself". Essential for an artist.

And on that note, dear reader, I'd like to thank Emmanuel for telling us about his life as an artist, before directing you towards his website so you can check out his wares.
