THE TEXAS INTERNATIONAL COMIC CON IS HERE - COMICPALOOZA 2015

Comicpalooza is the largest four day pop-culture event in Texas and the second largest in terms of programming behind SxSW. Comicpalooza 2015 will take place from May 22nd to May 25th, 2015, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. The four-day event includes more than 2,000 hours of programming running from 10 am until 2 am each day and utilizes 1.1 million square feet of exhibit and event space.





The annual event is held for fans of science fiction, fantasy, sports, video games, role playing games, technology, NASA/space enthusiasts, music, film and TV, and of course, comic books. Comicpalooza features authors, illustrators, cosplayers, wrestlers, athletes, gamers, techies, astronauts, actors, actresses, cartoon and anime voice actors, and musicians from rock, punk, pop, metal, and alternative genres. It is also a trade show showcasing the studios, publishers, and manufacturers of these industries.

WHO'S COMING?
Comicpalooza proudly welcomes Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner (Avengers: Age of Ultron, American Hustle, Bourne Legacy, The Hurt Locker) to appear at this year’s convention on Saturday, May 23. Jeremy Renner will also star in the upcoming Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation and Captain America Civil War.

Other guests include Cobie Smulders (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Avengers: Age of Ultron), Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter), and Summer Glau (Firefly), and Chloe Bennet (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, Dig) will be at Comicpalooza for his first signing ever.

Also in attendance this year are Stan Lee, George Takei (Star Trek), Henry Winkler (Happy Days), Linda Blair (The Exorcist), Gotham stars Camren Bicondova, Donal Logue, Sean Pertwee, Cameron Monaghan, and Cory Michael Smith, also Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead), Joel Hodgson (MST3K), Peter Mayhew (Star Wars) and celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show will be Barry Bostwick, Patricia Quinn and Nell Campbell.

Other guests include comic book legends Kevin Eastman, Walt Simonson, Peter David, Simon Bisley, and Jeff Smith, wrestlers include Sting, Rowdy Roddy Piper, and Bobby Heenan, novelists Mercedes Lackey, Raymond E. Feist, Jonathan Maberry, musician Marky Ramone (The Ramones), and many more.

SPECIAL DAYS
Friday, May 22 is Education Day, featuring art, writing, and science panels and seminars. Schools may take field trips classes to the con at discounted rates; teachers and chaperones attend for free.

Veterans and currently military personnel are admitted free on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25 with proper ID.
