There once was a war in the stars, full of vagrants and vermin and czars. But then, one night, to my, delight, I saw some women take off their huge bras. Want to know more? Then please check out the following three products featuring characters from the Star Wars Universe. Please enjoy.
Industrial Light & Magic Presents: Making Solo: A Star Wars Story
Author: Written by Rob Bredow with a foreword penned by Ron Howard.
Format: Hardcover.
Price: £35.
Page Count: 256 pages.
Size: 273mm (height) and 286mm (width).
Synopsis: If you want to know what it took to make 'Solo: A Star Wars Story', then please check out this book published by Abrams. No. Not JJ Abrams, the director of Star Wars episode seven and nine, but rather, the publisher, 'Abrams', who’ve smartly published this reference guide that’s filled with images, trivia, and facts, focused on the aforementioned cinematic adventure. After all, don’t you want to know how this film came to the big screen from those in the know? Or alternatively, find out how the special effects were made, or what inspired the creation of new worlds, new aliens, new droids, and new vehicles, all from a galaxy far far away? What’s more, you’ll also be able to discover the development of the Kessel Run, the reimagined Millennium Falcon, plus much much more.
What I Thought Of It: Now, if truth be told, I preferred reading this book a lot more than sitting down and watching the film it was based on, namely, ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’. Although, to be fair, Rob and the people behind this large-ledger seemed to have a lot more to work with because they went into considerably more detail about certain aspects associated with this film. Well, did you know that before directing 'Solo', Ron Howard was offered to direct 'Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace'? Or for that matter, that Alden Ehrenreich was the first actor to audition for the role? Surprising, I know, and in many ways, that’s how I would define my feelings for this book. It was a surprisingly good read and I would highly recommend it to fans of the franchise.
Star Wars™: Leia Organa Rebel Leader Box
Designed By: Jennifer Heddle.
Made From: Some type of ceramic material.
Price: £17.99.
Manufacturer: Chronicle Books.
Size: 165mm (height) and 114mm (width).
Synopsis: This hand painted figurine comes with a complementary display stand and a 48-page booklet written by the current executive editor of 'LucasBooks', Jennifer Heddle. In no uncertain terms, this booklet celebrates the history of Leia Organa (along with the woman who played her on the big screen, Carrie Fisher) by chronicling the role she had throughout the entire Star Wars saga.
What I Thought Of It: Do I have to write anything here? I mean, seriously, do I? Keeping in mind that this is a small statue of the great one herself, Leia Organa, which is a fairly elegantly designed sculpture that’s compact, nicely framed, and comes with a robust exterior and a pleasant book that was very enjoyable to read. In fact, it was so enjoyable, a feeling of nostalgia slapped me across the face because of the amount of positive pages found within. Pages, I hasten to add, that shows us how Leia grew from a damsel, to a princess, to an icon, to a legend, to a mother, and finally, to an inspiration we all know and love today.

What I Thought Of It: Did you pick up the Amy Ratcliffe book, ‘Star Wars: Women of the Galaxy’? (click here to find out more details) Because if you did, then I’m sure you're going to understand why 'Chronicle Books' devised this magnificent selection of postcards featuring images taken directly from it. Seriously, folks, this one is a no brainer, big time, as every single one of these images (within reason) are just wonderful to look at due to the scope, the design, and the number of elegant, earthy, and erstwhile characters on display. Although, to be completely honest, because I don’t send postcards on a regular basis, not usually, anyway, what I’ve decided to do is frame a couple in order to show them off. Well, they do look good and deserve to be presented in a proper light. Don't you agree?
