Are you a fan of art? Or to be more specific about it, street art! Well, if you are, then you might like to know about a mural painted in the East End of London by Jim Vision in order to celebrate the launch of 'Scarlet Nexus'.
What's 'Scarlet Nexus'? 'Scarlet Nexus' is a brand new video game set in the far distant future, where a group of mutants invades the planet because they crave the extra-sensory powers discovered in the human brain. Thematically, it's an action-packed role-playing game, and it was developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, who are probably best known for creating such games as 'Pac-Man'™, 'Tekken'™, and 'Soulcalibur'™.
Who's Jim Vision? Jim Vision is a prolific artist based in London, England, who along with his partner, Matilda, founded an artist-led production studio called EndoftheLine.co. Now, over the last 15 years, the two of them have worked on a variety of different projects for companies like Netflix, Paramount Pictures, Google, and Disney, focused on curated art events, unique video content, as well as large-scale outdoor mural campaigns, such as the series of murals Jim has painted all around the world, including places like Tahiti, Los Angeles, and Buenos Aires.
Where was this mural located? It was situated on the wall opposite Second Home Spitalfields, 68 Hanbury Street, London, E1 5JL, and was on display from the 25th of June, 2021, to the 14th of July, 2021 (click here for the map).
How long did it take to paint? Jim was able to single-handedly illustrate this mural in just two days and it required 50 cans of spray paint, 33 shades of color, and 4 neon colors as well.
What did Jim have to say about this particular project? In an interview Jim recently gave to the press, he said, "This part of East London felt like a fitting place to produce this piece of art. As you look down one road and see the quiet residential streets that were once the stomping ground of legendary London gangsters, The Krays, then you turn the corner, and you are surrounded by a huge city landscape of high-rise futuristic buildings, similar to 'Scarlet Nexus'".
