CHIAROSCURO - AN ANIMATED MURDER MYSTERY THAT TAKES A STAB AT FILM NOIR

There once was an Argentinian city, which was full of crime, corruption, and anything gritty. But then, one night, to everyone’s, delight, someone decided to make things less shitty. Want to know more? Then please check out… 'Chiaroscuro'!

So what's 'Chiaroscuro'? 'Chiaroscuro' is the title of an animated adventure that revolves around a detective named Nolán, Carlos Alberto Nolán, who's been ordered to find out the identity of the person that killed a prestigious local politician.

Who's the politician? The politician is a senator from Buenos Aires called Martinez, Jorge Cornelio Martinez, and recently he was stabbed to death by an unknown assailant. Stabbed 21 times in total.

Who are the suspects? Well, so far, the senator's wife is a suspect, along with his girlfriend, his co-workers, and a fake pastor called 'The Reverend'. But more importantly, the local crime family has also been implicated in the senator's death, named, The Hudsons, but only because he suspiciously hid two suitcases full of money before he passed away.

Anything else worth mentioning? Yes, as I'd like to say that this murder mystery is set during a rather dangerous period in the city's history, circa, the 1920s, when the streets were dominated by ruthless gangs that controlled the flow of prostitutes, crime, and illicit alcohol.

Who created 'Chiaroscuro'? It was written and directed by the author, Emiliano Ravenna, who was born and still lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina, even though he studied cinema in Milan, Italy. In recent years, he's also been able to write and direct a number of other films, such as 'DeejaysXgeneration' (2014), 'November Noir: Femme Fatale' (2016), and 'City of Souls' (2018).

Did Emiliano work with anyone on this project? Yes, because Emiliano is a part of the 'Latina Movie Company', and he's developed this project with two members of their team. Namely, Javier Ponce (Animation) and Federico Lorenzo (Editor). Here, check this out to see what I mean...
