Not so long ago, the team over at money.co.uk conducted a study to find out what city has the most ties to the film industry. In order to do this, though, they first had to compile a list of relevant sources, ranging from IMDb all the way to Movie Maker, so they could count the number of ties each city currently has within their vicinity, such as cinemas, film locations, film tours, and film festivals. So, as you can see, at the top of this list is the UK's capital city, London, but only because it has the most cinemas (161 in total) and film tours (104 in total) located within its borders. London is then followed by two American cities that both boast a really high amount of film locations. The first one is New York City (which has 7,456 film locations), while the second one is Los Angeles, California (which has 18,241).
In addition to this, money.co.uk have also discovered the cost of cinema tickets in each of these cities, like Switzerland, for instance, which is the most expensive place to purchase a ticket because the average selling price is roughly £15.49. Whereas Turkey, on the other hand, is the cheapest place, as the average selling price is approximately £1.75 per ticket. Here, have a look at the following two lists to see...
