In March, 2022, Prestel published a 128-page hardcover graphic novel that chronicles the life and times of the Irish-born British painter, Francis Bacon. Entitled, 'Francis Bacon: The Story of his Life', this complex and highly charged biography was written and illustrated by the Italian artist, Cristina Portolano, who garnished each page with shades of mauve, red, yellow, and blue in order to distinguish Francis's unique color palette and convey his story. A story that depicts the events surrounding his tragic childhood, his colorful career, and his often violent romantic relationships. Want to know more? Then please feel free to check out the following selection of pages from the aforementioned graphic novel. Enjoy.
