Adaptation: In October, Lionsgate will release a new film adapted from the graphic novel, 'White Bird: A Wonder Story', and it'll star Helen Mirren and Gillian Anderson.

Synopsis: A children's tale about a young girl with magical abilities who slowly learns how to use them in order to overcome a number of opposing obstacles.
Adaptation: Following the success of the 1996 film adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic, 'Matilda', as well as the associated Tony Award-winning musical, Netflix will release a new movie based on the aforementioned musical. It's set to come out this December and will star Emma Thompson, Lashana Lynch, and the newcomer, Alisha Weir.

Synopsis: A sci-fi adventure that focuses on an orphan from the Czech Republic, named Jakub, who embarks on a solo mission to Venus.
Adaptation: Netflix will adapt the book, 'Spaceman of Bohemia', into a movie and release it soon. It'll be called, 'Spaceman', and will star Adam Sandler and Paul Dano.

Adaptation: This year, HBO will release a TV miniseries based on the political novel, 'Integrity'. The miniseries will be named, 'The White House Plumbers', and it'll star Woody Harrelson, Lena Headey, and Justin Theroux.

Synopsis: An emotional tale set in Brighton, England, during the 1950s, which follows a gay police officer who tries to hide his sexuality from those around him, because at the time, being homosexual was illegal in Britain.
Adaptation: In November, 2022, Amazon Prime will be streaming the film adaptation of the 2012 book, 'My Policeman', which'll star Harry Styles playing the main character, Tom.
Author: David Grann / Page count: 400 pages / Time it should take to read: 13 hours 20 minutes
Synopsis: A crime thriller that starts in the 1920s and revolves around the inception of the FBI.
Adaptation: Due for release in the foreseeable future, Martin Scorsese is directing a film based on the New York Times bestseller, 'Killers of the Flower Moon', and it will star Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.
Some of the other book-to-film adaptations set for release this year include Winsor McCay's graphic novel, 'Little Nemo in Slumberland' (10 hours 36 minutes), which is being made into a Netflix movie starring Jason Momoa, as well as the 337-page book by Fredrik Backman, 'A Man Called Ove' (11 hours 14 minutes), which is set for release on Christmas Day and will star Tom Hanks.
