The late, great, Sid Avery was an American photographer who famously took a series of pictures that beautifully captured moments from the lives of legendary Hollywood celebrities while they were in their respective homes, such as Marlon Brando, Humphrey Bogart, and Audrey Hepburn, to name but a few. He also helped to establish the Motion Picture and Television Photo Archive, which today is known as mptvimages and is managed by his son, Ron, who's made it into one of the greatest archives of Hollywood imagery.
Now, to celebrate Sid's life and career, Reel Art Press has released a 288-page hardback book that features a selection of his iconic photographs and personal recollections. This book is called, 'Sid Avery: The Art of the Hollywood Snapshot', and it was co-edited and co-authored by Tony Nourmand and Sid's son, Ron Avery.
