There once was a man named Skinny, who owned a club in a place called Atlantic City. He was also associated with crooks, who could easily kill you with their devilish looks, until they all got whacked by a wise guy named Vinnie (allegedly). Want to know more? ... a comic book entitled, 'Love, Skin', which tells the real-life story of an Italian American man named Paul D'Amato, otherwise known as 'Skinny', who owned a club in Atlantic City, New Jersey, named the 500 Club, and was associated with organized crime. This included the boss of the Chicago Outfit, Sam Giancana, as well as the boss of the New Orleans crime family, Carlos Marcello. He was also quite friendly with a number of celebrities who performed in his club, such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin, to name but a few, and by all accounts, he had a very colorful lifestyle. So much so, in fact, that my pals Dawn Brown (the writer) and Jorge Pavajeau (the artist) decided to create a comic that chronicles his life and career. A comic book that you can read right now 👀 👇.
