In the autumn of 1888, a mysterious madman stalked the East End of London and killed five women who lived in the vicinity. Following his fourth killing, the madman was given the name, Jack the Ripper, and despite never being caught for his crimes, his name and his actions are still being featured in the media to this very day, including films, TV shows, books, and for the purposes of this article, comic books too. What now follows is a list of some of the comic books starring Jack the Ripper, which have been published by DC or Marvel Comics. Please enjoy.

The character who represents Jack in the comic book: An English man named Tom Malverne who suffers from sociopathic tendencies that urge him to commit acts of brutal murder / Summary of the story: After narrowly avoiding being captured by Captain America and Bucky Barnes, the mob boss, Tom Garrett, meets a sorcerer named Terdu who then magically summons criminals from the past to join Tom in his battle against his foes. These criminals include Captain Kidd, Jesse and Frank James, Bluebeard, Gyp-the-Blood, and Jack the Ripper.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight

The character who represents Jack in the comic book: An elderly lawyer called Jacob Packer who was slowly driven insane when Martha Wayne rejected his advances / Summary of the story: In 1889, following his tour of Europe, Bruce Wayne returns home to Gotham City and begins his one-man war against crime. Soon enough, he discovers that Jack the Ripper has also come to Gotham as well. Plus, to make matters even worse, the police believe that Bruce might be the aforementioned serial killer due to his mysterious nocturnal activities.
